A LIFETIME OF SERVICE
Meet Tim Giroux
Business leader • Family man • Champion for students

Tim and his wife raised their family in the Auburn/Grass Valley area. Their children attended local schools and went on to UCLA.
I have lived in our community since 1999. My wife and I practiced dentistry together in Scottsdale, Arizona for 17 years before moving to the Auburn/Grass Valley area. Once in California, I became a licensed real estate broker and transitioned into brokering dental practices and the real property associated with them.
I grew Western Practice Sales into one of the largest dental brokerage businesses in California and the West Coast. As a business owner for over 40 years, I understand budgets, setting clear goals, and what it takes to build something successful that lasts.
“Both of my children attended the local grade schools, became ASB presidents at Bear River High School, and graduated from UCLA. My mother, a special education teacher, taught me the value of giving back.”
I understand that college is not the only path to a meaningful career. Some of my closest friends and most successful colleagues built excellent lives in the trades. The earlier we recognize each person’s unique strengths and help them focus on those, the more successful our community becomes.
I am a proud grandfather of a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old, with another grandchild on the way. My grandkids plan to attend Bear River High School and follow in their mother and uncle’s footsteps. I want to make sure our schools are excellent when they get there.

A LIFETIME OF SERVICE
Meet Tim Giroux
Business leader • Family man • Champion for students

Tim and his wife raised their family in the Auburn/Grass Valley area. Their children attended local schools and went on to UCLA.
I’m running for the NJUHSD Board because I believe every student deserves a safe school, an excellent education, and a future filled with opportunity.
My wife and I have lived here since 1999. This opening stood out to me as a meaningful way to serve. My children have thrived in this rewarding environment, and I feel called to help ensure other families have the same opportunities.
After 20 years as a practicing dentist, I spent 25 years as a licensed real estate and business broker specializing in dental practice sales and transitions. My work included negotiating commercial leases, coordinating with attorneys, and facilitating complex business transactions. I’ve learned how to manage budgets responsibly and make decisions that stand the test of time.
Our two children served as student body presidents at Bear River High School, and were involved in FFA. Today, as a proud grandfather, I want to help ensure our schools are strong for the next generation.
Character matters. I support high academic standards, personal accountability, critical thinking, and classrooms where different viewpoints are shared respectfully.
I will support career and college pathways, recognizing that success includes university, skilled trades, technical education, military service, and entrepreneurship.
MY COMMITMENT TO OUR FAMILIES
Priorities for Our Schools
Clear principles • Practical solutions • Focused on every student’s success
Student Safety First
Every student deserves a physically safe campus, a disciplined learning environment, and clear consequences for threats, violence, bullying, harassment, and chronic disruption. No student should ever feel unsafe at school.
Common Sense Education
Schools exist to educate, not to indoctrinate. We must stay focused on academics, character, citizenship, and real opportunity — not political activism or ideological programming. Critical thinking skills are essential.
Career & College Pathways
Career pathways matter as much as college pathways. We must value vocational education, trades, technical training, and practical career readiness alongside university preparation. College is not the only successful path.
Parental Rights & Transparency
Parents are primary stakeholders. Families have a fundamental right to know what is being taught, what materials are used, and what issues affect their children. Transparency is not optional — it is essential.
Academic Excellence
Academic excellence must be the standard. We will prioritize reading, writing, math, science, civics, and true college or career readiness over fads, slogans, and policies that lower expectations for any student.
Merit, Character & Discipline
Merit matters. Students should succeed through effort, discipline, personal responsibility, and achievement. Discipline is part of compassion. We must support teachers in maintaining order so classrooms can be places of learning again.
Fiscal Responsibility
Every dollar spent by the district should support student outcomes, safe schools, and core classroom instruction. Waste, vague initiatives, and administrative bloat must be challenged. Budget decisions should put students and teachers first.
